MEDITERRANEAN WILD FENNEL SEEDS

The fennel is a typical Mediterranean herbaceous plant (Foeniculum Vulgare) that grows spontaneously in the southern regions and in the islands, from the basal level up to about 1000 m above sea level.
It prefers sunny, uncultivated, dry and pebbly places; it is also found in grassy areas, at the foot of dry stone walls and on the edges of country roads.

This is precisely why it is called "wild".

Wild fennel seeds are a spice, with an aromatic and intense taste, but at the same time sweet reminiscent of that of fennel.

Being part of the anise family, in its flavor you can also feel hints of the same anise and licorice.

Compared to fennel, its seeds are smaller, rarer to find on the market and more aromatic and for this reason they are considered of higher quality.
