The word curry does not indicate a spice but a blend of spices.
There are various types of blends, all born in India and transported to the West by English colonists, who had appreciated them so much that they decided to import them into their own country.
In reality, however, there is a small tree whose leaves are called "curry leaves" and they are part of the preparation of some curries.
The most common recipe, however, includes a mixture of different spices and is called "curry powder" or "curry powder", precisely to differentiate it from plant curry.
The two blends that the British liked the most and decided to export the most were Madras curry (the spiciest blend) and Mild curry (not spicy).
These two blends are still the most popular.
The Madras type is a spicy curry, typical of the Indian city of Madras in southern India.
