JAMAICA PEPPER PIMENTO

Allspice is a spice, similar in appearance to large pepper berries, which grow on a tree similar to myrtle native to the Indies and Central America (of the myrtaceae family).

Jamaican Pimento is also called Pimenta, Jamaica Pepper (as it originates from Jamaica), Pepe Garofanato and Allspice, from the English "allspice", for its characteristic flavor that seems to combine all spices.

The flavor of allspice is in fact very complex: its flavor is very similar to a mix of black pepper, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Allspice is also one of the few spices native to the western hemisphere.
