The dill plant is an aromatic herb of the umbelliferae family, native to Southern Europe (Greece, Turkey and the Balkans) and the Middle East.
It was already used by the Egyptians for its medical properties.
Both the seeds and the dried leaves of the dill plant are used in the kitchen.
Dill leaves have a mild flavor reminiscent of anise and are very popular and versatile.

How to use dill leaves?

Dill is a very versatile spice.
Dill in cooking is ideal to use as a flavoring for pickles, sauces, fillings and dishes based on fish, meat, chicken, vegetables (especially cucumbers).
It goes very well with the acid of yogurt and sour cream to create the famous dill sauce.
It is also excellent for flavoring soups, boiled potatoes, salmon steaks and salmon fillets.
