BLACK MUSTARD SEEDS

Black mustard is a mild variety of mustard.
Black Mustard (Brassica Nigra) seeds have an intense and aromatic flavor, and are excellent with meats.
Mustard is a spice known since ancient times, used since Roman times both as a medicinal spice (Hippocrates already speaks of it), and as a culinary one (the Romans mixed it with vinegar and honey, nuts and spices and for the preparation of many tasty sauces ).
Also known by the name of mustard, whose word derives from the Latin mustum ardens, because it was mixed with grape must, mustard is native to southern Europe.

There are two different varieties of mustard: black mustard (which is mainly used in seeds), and yellow mustard which is used with whole or ground seeds.
The black mustard plant is called Brassica Nigra, unlike the yellow mustard whose plant is called Brassica Alba.
