INDONESIA CINNAMON STICK

Cinnamon is a spice derived from the dried bark of an evergreen tropical tree of the laurel family that grows up to 3 meters. It is then dried and wrapped in cylindrical sticks and then finely ground.

In ancient times, cinnamon was considered a rare and precious spice to such an extent that it was jealously guarded in its treasures by King Solomon, who had received it as a gift from the Queen of Sheba.

Cinnamon was also one of the spices that Moses used to anoint the ark of the covenant and Pliny the Elder tells that Nero made unbridled use of it.

During the Middle Ages, cinnamon became common in Europe and today it is widely used for sweet and savory recipes.
